Meet our Guru, Mr. Abdhesh Kumar Karn. Graduated from Mithila University Darbhanga, Bihar Abdhesh Kumar Karn is one of the most celebrated names in Mithila folk art across India and abroad. He has imparted training in Madhubani art and design on various mediums in many fashion design universities and schools in India and United States.

Created with many national and state excellence awards he was long associated with the Central government Mithila training program, in Delhi. Last year he was rewarded with the Picasso award in West Bengal and Kala Mani award in Delhi for his exemplary contribution to democratizing Indian handicrafts.

This is a self-learning course through which students will learn to do a traditional style of Madhubani painting with a combination of both Kachni and bharni styles. Students will learn to sketch, and outline using a Madhubani nib, color dos and don’t, and some options for doing the background according to their choice.
